Keywords: CIIF, Energy Efficiency, Automation, China.

China International Industry Fair (CIIF) 2011, held November 1 to 5 at Shanghai's New International Expo Centre, was the country's most important industry exhibition this year, especially for industrial automation. The rising number of visitors and exhibitors reflects the booming manufacturing market in China despite the cloudy outlook of the global economy.

A Magnificent Industry Fair

CIIF 2011 incorporated eight theme shows:

  • Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show (MWCS)
  • Industry Automation Show (IAS)
  • Environmental Protection Technology & Equipment Show (EPTES)
  • Information and Communication Technology Show(ICTS)
  • Energy Show (ES)
  • Scientific and Technological Innovation Show (STIS)
  • New Energy Auto Show (NEAS), and
  • China Aerospace and Aviation Technology Show (CAATS).

The trade fair, focused on the strategic industries spurred by the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, provided a venue for high end equipment manufacturers in both domestic and foreign markets to consummate a significant amount of business during the five-day show.
